* 23rd Annual Festival sponsored by the Riviera Village Association, June 21 - 22, 2003.
Produced by Ray Leier, Del Mano Productions.

[From Easy Reader, "About Town," June 12, 2003] The art fest formerly known as ...

The Riviera Village Arts Festival has changed its tune, time, and name. On June 21 and 22, the new Riviera Village Summer Festival will kick off, featuring fine art, food, rides, jazz, R&B, and the surf rock of the legendary Surfaris (of “Wipe Out” fame). The festival, formerly held in the Spring, has revamped with a particular goal of not overlooking what Riviera Village Association President Mike Morales calls the “shorter persuasion” (children), something he believes occurred last year. “This year we are overcompensating with a vastly expanded children’s section including amusement park rides, old fashioned ‘state fair’ games such as a dunk tank and fun activities for all ages,” Morales says. The street fair runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. next Saturday and Sunday between Catalina and Ave. I and up to P.V. Drive.
